Family Fun
SIAFD Kids Zone
Brought to you by Colliers Rural Valuation
Every year we open the event to children under 16 for free, this allows you to make SIAFD a family affair. For 2025 we are going one step further to support your small companions by providing a dedicated Kids Zone.
Thanks to the awesome team at Colliers Rural Valuation our inaugural Kids Zone is free to enjoy at SIAFD. Their sponsorship of the space allows the committee to continue to create an enjoyable area for children near the centre of the site. Make sure you check this new space out and provide the SIAFD events team with feedback to ensure we can make the Kids Zone better year on year.

2025 Event elements
Cowboy Challenge
The skill and precision of these talented horse riding competitors will keep your eyes glued throughout all three days of SIAFD. Competitors don't know the series of challenges facing them at the event until they arrive, making the competition even more enticing to watch.
Brought to you by the NZ Cowboy Challenge Association, we are proud to be a part of the 2024/2025 competition circuit.

New Zealand Fencing Competitions
Back again for 2025, the team at NZFC bring a competition to Kirwee Thursday 27 and Friday 28 March. This year, it's all about designing and building a common farm item across the two-day event.
Then on Friday morning, the secondary schools fencing will take place, where pairs need to build a three-wire electric fence.
Find out more online here or head to Facebook to register to compete.

Ag Challenge
As a way of giving back and promoting farming to future generations, we are holding an Ag Challenge on Friday 28 March. Located in the East side of the site, we will be putting secondary school students to the test, physically and theoretically.
This is new to SIAFD and with a passionate committee bringing it to life, we hope you enjoy seeing students 'giving it a go'.
