Can you please read this documentation and pass it onto all of your staff and any outside contractors attending the SIAFD.

Contractors only have to fill the form out once, even if they have several sites they areservicing. However, your contractor's Hazard and risk documentation for each individual site is required as part of your documentation per the SIAFD health and safety agreement.

If you are low risk, you still need to return the form, but some sections won't be applicable. We will be in contact it if we require further information.

When you or your contractors first arrive on site, please get them to report to the site office or loading bank office for your site location and H&S induction.

Please ensure you, your staff and your contractors scan the Covid QR code,(or sign in manually) at each gate during set-up, pack-up and during the event.

Local Accommodation

Camping

There is no camping at the SIAFD site, however less than 5 minutes down the road the Courtenay A&P Showgrounds in Kirwee are offering camping.

Charges: $10 per night for power, or $5 per night non-power sites.

Offer of Homestay Accommodation

Would you like to stay with a local Malvern family during your visit to the March 2021 South Island Agricultural Field days?

Malvern Anglican Parish is organising bed and breakfast homestays for exhibitors and visitors to the field days. While this project is a fundraising activity for the parish, it is also an opportunity for visitors to meet local people in their homes. In past Field Days events, the exhibitors who stayed in homestays found they avoided the traffic between Christchurch and the Field Days site at Kirwee.

For details, costs and an application form you can: You can look forward to a warm welcome.

Note about the SIAFD event

The South Island Agricultural Field Days has been gazetted as an industrial exhibition under section 9 (2) of the Patents Act 2013 and section 10(2) of the Designs Act 1953.

Exhibitors may display their new inventions or designs for the first time at Field days without invalidating a future New Zealand patent or registered design application, provided that the application is filed within 6 months of the opening day of the show.  This is also provided the invention or design has not been publicised or marketed in any other way, and no commercial sale or use is made of the invention before the filing of the patent or registered design application.

Some overseas jurisdictions do not recognise the gazetting of industrial exhibitions, and if overseas protection is of interest to an exhibitor, we suggest filing a patent or registered design application before displaying their invention at Field Days.
